They charge to take you there & sometimes to return you, they charge for the aisle seat, the window seat, the exit row seat, the pillow, the blanket, the can of soda, snacks, oh don't forget to pay to check your first bag, blah, blah, blah...
Now there is a South African start up airline that charges by the mile. For now they are charging around 5 rand or 50c/mile USD. That's good for now, but with a down turned world economy, fluctuating fuel cost and who knows what will be thrown our way next. I wonder how long it will take for a major airline to merge with them and triple the mileage? I wish them well as they continue to have the best pricing from here to there...
